A Giliacquas, frazione di Elmas, c'è la possibilità di osservare un bello scorcio di laguna, e se si ha un po' di pazienza si può assistere a degli indimenticabili tramonti.

Saint Mary's Parish Church stands at the south west corner of Lindisfarne village on the tidal Holy Island of Lindisfarne. In some ways the church is dominated by the ruins, immediately to its east, of Lindisfarne Priory. The two share a common heritage and although St Mary's was for many centuries less important than its neighbour, it can now lay claim to standing on a site in use for Christian worship for some 1400 years.

This is taken from St Mary's churchyard looking through to the ruins of Lindisfarne Priory. Behind that and beyond the bay stands Lindisfarne Castle.

I don't like to see horses and any other animal performing in a circus. It's not the place of this wonderful animal. But I'm obliged to admit that the Knie's circus has always had beautiful horses which are very well treated !

A puddle's eye view or rather iPhone's eye view of Skogafoss ... It is hard to get an original composition at this famous waterfall, so I was glad to find the puddle and thankful to the strangers who walked into my composition ... it was not an easy shot to take with the overwhelming spray so close to the falls, it was hard to 'see' what I was composing ... (do look at it large if you have a moment)

Framed by the South Island’s stunning Southern Alps, a lonely Willow tree has grown up to spread its wings just off shore at the south end of Lake Wanaka.

"I concluded at the last to set up my staff at the library door in Oxon; being thoroughly persuaded, that in my solitude, and surcease from the Commonwealth affairs, I could not busy myself to better purpose, than by reducing that place, which then in every part lay ruined and waste, to the public use of students..."

Have a wonderful weekend, my friends !!

1947, an year to all known at this fishermen's land. in that december day, and night, a sudden storm vanished the dreams of all those men. the huge waves, the strong wind, the growing cold, all against those tiny boats. in one day, one single day, 152 were gone in the sea... and 71 widows were left with eyes on the ocean, with arms on the air.

Buckingham Fountain is a Chicago landmark in the center of Grant Park. Dedicated in 1927, it is one of the largest fountains in the world. Built in a rococo wedding cake style and inspired by the Latona Fountain at the Palace of Versailles, it is meant to allegorically represent Lake Michigan. It operates from April to October, with regular water shows and evening color-light shows. During the winter, the fountain is decorated with festival lights.
